How to get there without a car
It is very simple to go to Itoman-city area.
Take the Okinawa Urban Monorail (Yui Rail) from Makishi station to Akamine station. Then, take the local bus from Akamine station to Michinoeki Itomanmae station. Michinoeki is like a roadside station and you can take a rest there or sometimes you can get local fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, fish etc. I think this place is a very interesting opportunity for visitors because you can see some different type of food. Especially, Okinawa is a tropical area, so food is quite different.
By the way, this is Itoman-city area’s ocean. Look at that. It is amazing.

This is the place you can see the Tuna cutting in front of you. Their cutting way is professional! Also, you can eat the fresh tuna which is caught in Okinawa and you can eat the variety parts of tuna by many different way of cooking.

This is a local supermarket. You can get variety of souvenirs here and it is usually cheaper than the airport. I got some deli food for snack, too. I had an Okinawa style inari roll (wrapped in deep-fried bean curd). It contains dried bonito broth in rice. Very flavorful!
